1) removing my old weather strips was a BEAR. Contractor had used some super gripping nails and it was very hard to pull the strip off. 2) I'd recommend using stainless steel nails. My old strips were attached with galvanized nails and they were pretty rusted. 3) Why not paint the wood before installing the new strips?

Water and vinegar works better and is cheaper. Wet and forget didn’t work as well on my roof.

Your pump's inlet PVC fittings are low pressure DWV grade. Weaker stuff, and only to get weaker exposed to UV. Replace with Sch 40 at a minimal. And I could tell, but avoid Teflon tape and opt for a paste. Not a final fix, but a good place to start renovations your set up.

This worked for my kitchen sink faucet! I actually set the handle to the mid point instead of alternating between hot and cold. This way cold water was just constantly flowing out of the hot water line until unclogged. I had to remove the spray head and clear that out as well.

What about if theres already something inside of those brackets? Can anyone give me tips on how to remove them then? I'm taking down some shelves ans the brackets already have giant screws in them.

To make sure the screws won't come off, use a flat (4 x 4 or maybe) on the bottom of each leg (after you attached the extension blocks) and install the screws diagonally (like pocket screws). This is done because installing the screws along the grain of the wood fibers results in weaker anchoring. Overall, your method works very well. Thanks for sharing.

I am doing this exact thing but the guy who done the tile work used liquid nails on the studs then he nailed the backer board to the studs now i am trying to remove the tile and backer board it's almost impossible to get the backer board of the studs. I Hate Tile.

The top rail is just mounted through the PVC sleeve to the 4 x 4 without any extra blocking? So, this hugs the vinyl sleeve tight to the 4 x 4 at that spot for a secure connection?
